Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm Review and Demo

[Purchased by me]

If you follow British beauty bloggers, you will know that the hot thing in skincare right now is balms, balms, balms.  Courtesy of Caroline Hirons (of Beautymouth fame), cleansing balms have shot to the top of every bloggers wishlist.  I wasn't immune to this since I was looking for an effective makeup remover that wasn't as greasy as cleansing oil or as non-effective as a cleansing water.  I feel like cleansing oils are great for heavy duty eye makeup and cleansing water is good for face makeup.  This Clinique balm kind of sits comfortably in the middle and I can use it to remove a full face of makeup easily

Urban Decay 24/7 liner, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof liner, Maybelline Color Tattoo, Sephora brand gel liner

As you can see, the only product that still clung on was the gel liner, but only a tiny amount.  All I do with this product is massage it on dry skin and rinse with warm water.  I usually do follow up with a second cleanser since my skin sits on the oilier side and I worry this may break me out.  It's mostly an unfounded fear though because the ingredient list is very simple with no unwanted overly scented oils or heavy butters.  I recommend this for anyone looking for an effective makeup remover or anyone who wants to try cleansing balms but are sensitive to scents and heavy ingredients. UPDATED:  Check out comments for the full ingredient list.

    1. The full ingredient list is below... if something has mineral oil/fragrance/alcohol in it I try not to use it. That being said, the best foundations usually contain alcohol.
